Robin Thede is an accomplished actor, writer, sketch and improvisational comedian, entertainment correspondent, host, and radio personality.

She can be seen playing “Karen” in a new episode of the NBC series “Kath & Kim” in November 2008. She recently appeared on “Worst Week” for CBS and stars in the upcoming web series “Buppies” alongside and all-star cast, including actress Tatyana Ali.

Other recent work includes playing outrageous characters on the sketch comedy series "The Mike Epps Comedy Mix Tape Vol. 1," for which she also served as a staff writer. Robin worked for a second season as a staff writer on the 2008 BET Awards, and co-starred in the online sketch comedy show “25/7” directed by Jim Piddock.

Additionally, Robin’s television credits include working as a regular entertainment correspondent for "E! News" with Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic, appearing as a regular cast member on “Socially Offensive Behavior” on BET, and guest starring on “Frank TV” on TBS. She was cast as a series regular on the short-lived series “A Guy Walks Into a Bar” on A & E and had recurring roles over two seasons of the hit show “All of Us” on UPN/CW.

Robin trained at Northwestern University in Broadcast Journalism, then learned from improv/sketch comedy masters at Second City Chicago and LA, Improv Olympic Chicago, and several conservatory programs

 

 

in both Chicago and LA. Robin has been writing sketch comedy for more than a decade, including during her time at The Second City Chicago. In LA, she has written several live sketch comedy shows, a critically acclaimed one-woman show called “Tea & A.”

Robin’s countless characters and endless energy make her a comedic force to be reckoned with, but she has also been hailed for dramatic roles as well, including playing “Sarah” in the NAACP Theater Award-Winning “Girls of Summer” and winning the Best Actress Performance Prize in the Brussels 2005 International Film Festival for her work in the short film “Plant One On Me.”
